The Souls are a Swiss alternative rock band formed in 2010 in Berne. The band consists of lead vocalist Jay Messerli, the two guitarists Luk Kipfer and Michael Finger as well as Dominik Grossenbacher on drums, bassist Rease Nydegger and Raly Scheuing on keys.
The band’s origins trace to their attendance at their school and playing together since their mid-teens. Throughout their musical career the band opened for several major acts and played most of the major festivals in Switzerland after releasing their debut album “Eyes Closed” in 2016 reaching number three in the Swiss charts. Beside touring in their homeland, the Ukraine and some of Europe, the band played shows in Singapore and the USA.
After playing over 450 shows in the last decade the band took some time off the spotlight. Their album "Queenie Pop" was written, recorded and produced mostly by the band itself. The record was released in autumn 2020 and went to no. 7 on the Swiss album charts. The long player "Too Good Too Go" was entirely produced and recorded by the band itself. It was released in march of 2023 and reached #9 on the Swiss album charts.
While touring with their latest creation, the band went to Eastcote Studios in London to work with Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg to buckle down another record. While locked up for a month, they produced another long player ready to see the light of day.
